Joining the service team at RMB Toyota Teesside in October 2013, as the team’s first apprentice service advisor, Jack embarked on Toyota’s highly respected apprentice programme ‘Toyota Academy’.
The apprentice programme provides young adults with the opportunity to work in full time employment at a UK Toyota dealership, whilst completing vocational training at the state of the art Apprentice Academy in Nottingham three times a year. The programme offers apprenticeships in a range of motoring disciplines including service, body shop and technician, with apprentices completing either a 2 year or 3 year apprenticeship.
Jack who is now a Senior Service Advisor recently visited Toyota’s vehicle manufacturing plant in Burnaston, Derbyshire to collect his graduation certificate after completing his apprenticeship late last year.
We caught with Jack to find out what his thoughts were on the Toyota Academy, “The programme has been a valuable experience. Over the last 2 years I’ve visited the academy 6 times which helped to enhance the knowledge I gained through working in the dealership”.
We also got the chance to speak to Andrew Bleasby who heads up the service team at RMB Toyota Teesside and is Jack's line manager, “I remember Jack walking in off spec looking for a job and within 5 minutes I offered him a position with the company. I certainly could see the potential and he hasn’t let us down. He’s now progressed to a Senior Service Advisor and I’m sure if he keeps up the hard work he will become a successful Manager in years to come”.
We want to wish Jack a very well done on graduating from the Toyota Academy and every success going forward for his career at RMB Toyota.
